30 Free Things to Do

Tania had a great idea. So here are my 30 things. Unfortunately, I prefer to do 30 fun, interesting, or relaxing things. So, you will not see dusting (makes me sneeze for hours) or washing dishes (leads to more cleaning - Duh!) on my list. Sorry!

  1. Ride a bike
  2. Go to the library
  3. Paint ugly clay pots with leftover paint
  4. Leave cookies on a neighbors doorstep, ring the bell, and RUN!
  5. Hide love notes in every ones room
  6. Make a collage from old magazines or newspapers describing yourself
  7. Sit on the porch and talk
  8. Water the plants early in the morning or just before dark when it is real quiet outside- Very relaxing
  9. Soak in the tub with a good book.
  10. Take a picture hike - take a camera and take pictures or everything and anyone interesting. Everyone can have a turn with the camera.
  11. Paint your toenails
  12. Walk around the neighborhood and just listen. Then write down and discuss all the sounds you heard.
  13. Have a scavenger hunt with a fun ending.
  14. Pray
  15. Have everyone tell their favorite memory
  16. Paper Mache - uses flour glue and old newspapers
  17. Make a Flat Stanley (a cut out version of yourself) and send him to different people. They take pictures of him in their home town and write a letter telling you all he did. Pretty fun!
  18. Write in your blog
  19. Invite friends over for a pot luck
  20. Go wading in a stream or creek
  21. Walk the dog(s)
  22. Write a letter to Grandparents
  23. Go to the park - try a new one
  24. Make an obstacle course
  25. Lay outside a night and look for meteors
  26. Cuddle
  27. Sing and dance to your favorite toons blaring on the stereo
  28. Read a classic novel
  29. Have a summer reading club with a fun day earned at the end
  30. Take a nap - Ha Ha I don't have little kids anymore and can actually do this now!

This was harder than I imagined. But, the best things I do really are free.

I really like the Flat Stanley idea. Can you imagine Don & Julie taking one with them wherever they go.
